NJPW G1 Climax 27 Night 4 Review

Another night in Korakuen Hall for Block B. Tonight's main event has some potential. I'm a bit late on this one and it has given me quite a packed day with 2 G1 shows and WWE Battleground to watch. Let's do it.

Block B Match - Toru Yano vs Satoshi Kojima

It's one thing when you book these Yano matches to last 4-5 minutes but I don't need 10 minutes of his antics. *1/2

Block B Match - Juice Robinson vs EVIL

This was a really good match that highlighted how far both men have come since I first saw them. They put together a thoroughly entertaining back and forth here. The finishing stretch was brilliantly executed and the crowd continues to get fully behind Juice. Really good stuff. ***3/4

Block B Match - Minoru Suzuki vs SANADA

Minoru Suzuki comes to the ring and kicks one of the young boys in the dick. Why? Cuz he's a dick. Another good match. They brawl at ringside, as is customary for Suzuki, and Desperado gets involved. I thought they did as much here as the Suzuki - Omega match but in half the time. Following the match Suzuki attacks some more young boys. Genuinely terrifying human being. ***1/2

Block B Match - Kenny Omega vs Tama Tonga

These men are both Bullet Club but Tonga attacks Omega during the introductions. He is not happy about Omega representing The Elite over Bullet Club. A large portion of the match involves Tonga in control and calling Omega a motherfucker. It's a good match but is more concerned with the internal struggles of Bullet Club rather than putting on a top notch contest. ***

Block B Match - Michael Elgin vs Kazuchika Okada

Fantastic main event. Okada is a man that appears to just be able to put on great matches with anyone and everyone. The fans buy every single near fall in this one and it really pushes the match into the realms of excellence. The finishing stretch is absolutely fantastic and this is right up there with Ibushi vs Naito as the best matches of the tournament so far. ****3/4

Overall Grade - B+

That main event really is superb and Robinson vs EVIL and Suzuki vs SANADA are both worth a watch.
